You can receive support from this project if:
- You came under one of the Ukraine Schemes (such as Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Family Scheme, or Ukraine Extension Scheme)

- Your UK visa is expiring soon or within the next few months
- You live, work, or study in the London Borough of Lewisham

Objectives of the project

- To raise awareness of the UPE scheme among Ukrainian guests and hosts in Lewisham

- To provide accessible, bilingual advice and guidance on eligibility, timelines, and application steps

- To offer technical and one-to-one support for completing the online UPE application, particularly for vulnerable individuals and those facing digital exclusion

- To support individuals in gathering the correct documentation and evidence required for their application

- To deliver weekly drop-in sessions and maintain multiple contact options, including phone, email, WhatsApp and Telegram

- To reduce the risk of late or missed applications, loss of entitlements, or unnecessary transitions into homelessness or hardship

- To reduce barriers for vulnerable individuals and those with limited digital access

- To collaborate with local partners to extend the reach and impact of the support available

How much does it cost to get help from your team?

Our support is completely FREE for Ukrainian in Lewisham. You can get help from our trained caseworkers, join our workshops, or ask questions through WhatsApp, Telegram or email — all at no cost.

What is the Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme (UPE)?

The Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme (UPE) allows Ukrainians living in the UK under one of the Ukraine Schemes to extend their stay for an additional 18 months. The application is completely free.

Who is eligible to apply for UPE?

You can apply if:
– You already have permission to stay in the UK under one of the Ukraine Schemes
– You are currently in the UK at the time of applying
– You have lived in the UK (or Crown Dependencies such as Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man) since receiving your previous permission to stay

Who can apply for the Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme (UPE)?

If you came to the UK under one of the Ukraine Schemes (Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Family Scheme, Ukraine Extension Scheme) and your visa is close to expiring, you may be eligible to apply for an extension under UPE. We can help you check your eligibility.

When should I apply for the visa extension?

You can only apply when there are 28 days or fewer left on your current visa. Make sure to submit your application before your current permission expires. Don’t wait until the last minute — we can help you start early and avoid stress.

How do I know when my visa expires?

To check the expiry date of your current permission, you can log into your UKVI account. If you're unsure how to do this, our team can help you check.

I don’t speak English well. Can I still get support?

Yes! Our team includes Ukrainian and English-speaking staff who can explain everything clearly and support you in your own language.
